Sixteen-year-old Simone Biles is taking the nation of gymnastics by storm and now she’s ready to show the world what she can do.
Simone, a newcomer, was apart of the strongest U.S. team performance in world championship history recently at the Artistic Gymnast World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.
The teen gymnast has already proven that she can handle competition. She won the all-around and a total of four medals during the event. “All the hard work has paid off,” she said. “It is so exciting to be part of that. I cannot ask for anything more.”
Simone may have been the most successful gymnast at the competition, followed by Japan’s Kohei Uchimura. Both won two golds and four medals overall, but Simone added a silver and a bronze to her winnings compared to Kohei’s two bronze medals.
It looks like Simone may be well on her way to helping the U.S. take the gold in 2016.
